Whether it’s a stylish ride for the bride and groom or functional transportation for guests to your venue, day-of transportation is an essential of any budget. Especially if you have out of town guests, you can’t guarantee that everyone will have their own car to get around, so it’s fairly customary to offer an alternative.
First off, decide how you want to be transported. Limousines are a popular option for the bride and groom and often the whole wedding party. Opting rather for vintage cars or trolleys offer a touch of the unique to your day. Town cars and basic transportation rental services are a good option for guest transportation. Secondly, book your wedding transportation around 4 months before your wedding and five or six months in advance if your wedding is during prom season (think April or May).
Typically, a limousine rental company will charge per hour–averaging $40 to $75 per hour– but many will offer wedding packages with a flat fee. These packages will set a certain amount of time that will generally cover transportation to the ceremony and from the ceremony to the reception. These packages will vary from company to company depending on the amount of time offered and services provided.
Vintage car rental and trolley rental give a luxurious and quirky feel to your wedding, but their pricing will run a little higher than most limousine and car rentals. Packages will be, as well, based on number of hours that the vehicle is used for and may charge more to have the vehicle on display somewhere during the event. Keep in mind that a vintage car will usually only fit the bride and groom, so other accommodations will have to be made for the wedding party.
Question to ask your vendor: Does your company have insurance? Is gratuity added onto the rental fee? How much do you charge for hours added onto the preset package time? Are there any extra services that are an additional cost?
